Its Chairman Shri Surendra Kotkar, who has more than 50 years of experience in the Automotive Industry, incorporated KEDPL in the year 1993. Shri Surendra Kotkar is an
R & D Engineer and over the decades has developed many imaginative products and equipment.

In 1986 Shri Kotkar invented and patented an energy saving automobile service lift viz ' Kotkar Auto Service Lift ' for which he received awards from MCCIA, FIE Foundation and SICOM. This Lift has been useful to the automobile service industry in terms of its special features like 'No electrical Power required', portability, ergonomic design and enhanced-productivity. In the year 1985, Shri Kotkar also invented a special ' Hand Operated Driving Control ' system for the use of Physically Challenged and Handicapped persons to drive manual geared cars. These and many other such products developed by him are first of their kind in the world.
